What gutters cost in Houston
Real 2026 ranges for the Houston area — repairs, seamless installation, guards and cleaning — and the things that move a quote up or down. These are typical prices, not a bid; call for a written estimate on your house.

Gutter guards
Aluminum screen $5–$9 per foot; stainless micro-mesh $10–$18 per foot; reverse-curve $18–$30 per foot. On a 160-foot home that's roughly $900–$2,900 depending on the type. Cheapest when installed with new gutters, because the crew is already on the ladder at every foot of the run. The gutter guards page covers which type suits which trees.
Gutter cleaning
Single-story $120–$200, two-story $180–$300. Priced by the house, not by the hour, and the fee comes off any repair we find. See gutter cleaning.
What moves the price
- Stories. Two-story work costs 15–25% more for the setup.
- Roof complexity. Every inside corner is a miter; hip roofs with lots of corners cost more per foot than a simple gable.
- Fascia condition. The biggest surprise on old homes. We check it before quoting so it isn't a surprise on the invoice.
- Gutter size. Six-inch is about 20% more than five-inch and worth it on big roofs.
- Access. Pool cages, dense landscaping and steep lots slow the crew down.
- Color. Standard white, brown and the common trim colors are stock; a specialty color may add a week and a small upcharge for the coil.
A worked example
A two-story home in Cypress with 210 feet of gutter, five downspouts, one soft corner of fascia and a hip roof with eight corners: 6-inch .032 aluminum with 3x4 downspouts at $14 a foot is $2,940; ten feet of fascia at $12 is $120; extensions on five downspouts at $40 are $200. Total about $3,260, one day, old gutters hauled off. The same house quoted at $2,100 is almost certainly 5-inch .027 metal with 2x3 downspouts and spike hangers.
Reading a Houston gutter quote
Ask for the aluminum gauge (.032 is better than .027), the hanger type and spacing (hidden hangers every 24 inches), the downspout size, and whether fascia repair and haul-away are included. A quote that's $600 cheaper than everyone else's is usually thinner metal, spike hangers and 2x3 downspouts — which is how the gutters you're replacing were installed the first time. What $9 to $15 a foot buys you goes through each line.
Any gutter estimate Houston-area contractors hand you should be free, in writing, and good for at least 30 days. If someone wants a decision before they leave the driveway, that's the sales model talking, not the price.

Is it cheaper to repair or replace gutters?
Repair, if the gutters are aluminum, under about 20 years old, and the problems are in a few spots. Replace if they're sectional, rusting steel, or more than a third needs work — patching adds up to a replacement without the warranty, and you'll be back on the ladder next year.
Does homeowners insurance cover gutter replacement in Houston?
Only for sudden storm damage — wind, hail, a fallen limb — not for age or wear. After a storm we document the damage for your adjuster with photos and a written scope. Most Texas policies have a separate wind and hail deductible, often 1–2% of the dwelling value, so small gutter claims may fall under it.
How much are gutters for a 2,000 sq ft house in Houston?
Usually 150–180 linear feet of gutter, so $1,500–$2,400 for 5-inch seamless aluminum and $1,900–$2,900 for 6-inch, single-story. Add 15–25% for two stories, and a line for fascia if any of it is soft. That's a typical range, not a quote.
